Q from Melissa: Do you use lip balms during the winter months? I find I am much happier using tinted lip balms and saving my lipsticks for the warmer weather. Right now I am loving Burt’s Bees Red Dahlia tinted lip balm.
I’ve had such awful chapped lips my entire life but I admit I’m not great about using lip balm! When I do think of it, I’m also of fan of Burt’s Bees. I use their original formula and it does help!
Q from Larissa B.: What is your favorite within the e.l.f. makeup line? I have tried a few products but love to be pointed in a good direction!.
I have quite a few e.l.f. products that are go-tos, but if I had to pick a favorite it would definitely be the shadow lock primer. It works great and it’s SO affordable! If I’m wearing makeup you can be sure I’m wearing this primer!
Q from Julie T.: Are there certain things you will not wear even if they are on trend? Yes, I will not wear any sort of shoe that is not comfortable, even if it is on trend.
Absolutely! While I am definitely influenced by trends and like to stay current (to an extent), I still stay true to my personal style and taste. For instance, I’m not a fan of capri or super cropped pants. (An ankle length is about as short as I’ll go.) Capri and cropped pants I just don’t find flattering and you likely won’t ever see me in them! Another trend that’s been big this year? The split sleeve. I don’t mind all exposed shoulder looks but for the most part I am ready for the split sleeve and exposed shoulder trend to be gone!
Q from Kelly T.: What is your favorite hair conditioner? I love the Herbal Essences Smooth Collection Conditioner, it works great and smells great too.
I don’t use a hair conditioner every day (though I do mix in honey to my shampoo every time I wash). Lately I’ve started using Briogeo Don’t Despair Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask about once or twice a week. I received it in a subscription box last year and just tried it recently. I do like it! Especially once the weather turns colder and my hair feels a little more dry. This particular tub sells for $36 but it should last me a really long time!
Q from Christina A.: What is your favorite travel destination? I love Paris and, most recently, Bulgaria…it’s gorgeous!
I’ve been so lucky as to travel to some amazing destinations around the world but if I had to pick a favorite, and somewhere I’d happily return to in a millisecond, Paris is it! I’ve been four times now – twice during a semester abroad in college and two times over the past few years and I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. For somewhere new I haven’t been? Iceland!
