When I found out I was pregnant last year one of the most fun things was checking out all the gear. Picking out a crib, painting the nursery, and finding registry “must-have” lists filled with latest and greatest items was pretty fun. As someone who put off motherhood for a bit, it was a territory I was slowly easing my way into. One thing I just couldn’t get into? Diaper bags.
Do they make lots of cute diaper bags these days? Sure. I see friends with cute-printed backpacks and bags, filled with all the stuff tiny people require. I just wasn’t into it. Now in full disclosure, had a Kate Spade diaper bag been in my budget I might have opted to go in that direction, but as it was, it was not so I had to look at some other options. Which for me, meant no diaper bag at all!
I wanted the option to carry one of my regular bags if I wanted to and I knew there had to be some sort of diaper bag alternative to make it work! I found this diaper bag organizer on Amazon (similar here) and it ended up working perfectly!
I also found this reversible tote bag at a boutique and they made the perfect combination. I’m able to fit everything I need in there and while I probably still look like a mom carrying it (the 18 lb baby also kind of gives it away), I feel a little bit more like myself!
With this organizer, I’ve got room for diapers, bottles, formula, clothes, toys, and more. And it’s easy to pop out and put into another bag when I need a change! (Though I haven’t really yet, I’m still pretty into the gold glitter!) Best part? It’s under $15!
Just thought I’d share a little tip on how I’m *trying* to maintain some of me, into motherhood! Now tell me moms, what did you use for a diaper bag?
Update: Check out my plans for a diaper bag with baby #2!
