Saving Money with Dryel

Disclosure: I am excited to partner with Dryel as an ambassador and have received free products and compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.

I’ve mentioned before that Dryel is saving me tons of time and giving me the freedom to wear more of the clothing I like! Another big perk? Saving money! Along with my regular household expenses I’m now trying to figure out how to budget in this baby I’m expecting in December! I hear babies aren’t cheap so any where I can save I’m going to try! :)

pile of laundry to dry clean
I’ve always got a pile that never made it to the dry cleaners!

In the past when I’ve taken items to be dry cleaned I was shocked at the price! What I thought would cost $20-$30 was upwards of $75 and it kind of kept me from going back! (Hence the dry cleaning piles I’ve built up over the years!) Now that I can clean my dry clean only (and hand wash only!) items at my convenience using nothing more than Dryel and my dryer, I’m saving big!

I know what you’re thinking, this sounds great but does it really work? And will I actually save money? The answers? Yes, and yes!

Does Dryel actually clean? How does it work?

The heat of your dryer activates the Dryel ULTRAcleaning Cloth cleaning solution and releases a steam that removes odors and stains from clothing. The Fabric Protection Bag allows the steam to work throughout the clothing and then vents out the vapors. The included Dryel Booster Spray includes extra cleaning agents to remove stains and works on heavily soiled garments you treat before you clean as normal.

It takes about 15 minutes to run a load through the dryer so there’s no wait time either!

Is it expensive to use?

It costs around $0.25 an item!  (You can probably find a quarter or two in your couch cushions!) A starter kit contains booster spray, reusable fabric protection bag, and 4 ULTRAcleaning Cloths and can clean four loads- up to 20 garments. A refill kit contains booster spray and 8 ULTRAcleaning Cloths and can clean eight loads, or up to 40 garments.  That’s a ton of clean clothing for a fraction of your dry cleaning bill!

Now instead of setting aside money to refresh and clean my winter coats, favorite fall sweaters, and special dresses, I can use that money for something fun! Or more likely, for diapers! (I imagine I’ll be buying a lot!)

If you haven’t tried Dryel yet, what are you waiting for?
