Wantable Review

It’s been a while since I’ve tried out a clothing subscription service so I thought I better do a little research to see if there’s anything else I’m missing out on lately! I knew Wantable had subscription boxes for accessories, cosmetics and lingerie, but they’ve also got what they call “Style Edits” , where they’ll send you a selection of items to try on at home and then you can buy what you like! I just got my first edit in the mail, so I thought I’d better share my review with you!

The Details:
  • Receive monthly “edits” (you have the option to skip)
  • Very personalized – you fill out a style questionaire on everything from favorite colors and styles to how much you’d like to spend on items
  • $20 styling fee that is then applied to any items you purchase
  • You’ve got 5 days to try things on and mail the items back (they provide a pre-paid shipping envelope)
  • If you choose all the items they send, you save 25%
I’ve tried other similar services like Le Tote, Stitch Fix, and Nadine West, and Wantable definitely requested the most information on the types of items I wanted to receive, which is great! Some sites merely ask for your size and then ship you whatever they’ve got. The form asks for all kinds of sizing and fit information, plus:
Types of apparel I wanted:

The styles/items I liked or didn’t want:

And the colors, prints and fabrics I preferred:

And last, and this is an important one, they ask how much you want to spend on items. If I don’t want to be sent any items over a certain amount, I can let them know!
So, how was my first edit? Pretty good! Here’s what I received:

Grey dress ($90): Comfortable and great quality dress. It has a cute twisted back detail too. Way too big though and more than I wanted to spend on something like this.

White Jeans ($140): Really good quality but I knew pulling them out of the box they would be too small, and they were!
Black Dress ($61): While I had selected that I didn’t want any items that showed midriff they still included this dress. I left a note on my review that I didn’t want items like this, so hopefully next time they’ll remember!
Black top ($29): This is a really good quality black t-shirt and I like the slit detail a lot. I’m keeping this one!
Red top ($65): While I did like this top, I have something kind of similar so I couldn’t justify buying it.

I decided just to keep the black slit top. I can always use another black top and this one was only $9 (after the $20 styling fee was applied).
Verdict: I’m definitely going to try Wantable again. After I received and reviewed my items I went back into my profile and changed some things around so maybe next month will be a little more successful!  Wantable also does fitness edits too, so if workout clothes are more your style, it might be fun to check it out!
