July Ipsy Bag

July’s Ipsy bag was a cool pink mini roll case full of some more fabulous stuff.

First up, the POP Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt is, well, PINK. BUT, it looks
really pretty under a lip gloss and is actually pretty fun on it’s own. It goes on really soft-
like a balm in pencil form. My lips are always (repeat that ten times) super dry, so I feel
like this on its own isn’t the greatest texture for me, but I always layer my lipsticks and
glosses anyway, so it will be easy to incorporate into my makeup with another product.
This product is sold in a set of six ($25) so you can try all the colors. With my Ipsy
subscription I can save 20% this month, so that’s a pretty good deal.

Next up is the California Collection Eyeshadow Sample. It includes a shade from each
of the California Collection palettes: Hollywood, San Francisco, and Malibu. Having
green eyes, I always go for eyeshadow shades in purples, browns and golds, so this
sample is perfect for me. I’ve worn Nars Duo Eyeshadow in Kalahari for a long time
and recently ran out of the bronze-y color. The San Francisco shade in this sample is
a great replacement. These palettes usually sell for $17.95 and each includes 16 eye
shadows and 4 blushes. Right now it’s on sell on the site for $8.95! That’s a lot of colors
to pick from!

I’ve said before I don’t like most hair products so I’m pretty psyched when I find one
I like. The Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning & Texturizing Spray is great. For
someone with totally fine, flat hair, this actually gave me some texture and volume. I
sprayed it on with just out of the shower hair, scrunched it up with my fingers and stood
out in the sun for about 10 minutes and let it dry.  My hair wasn’t wavy or anything, but
it definitely had some volume.  I’m sure if you have some natural curl in your hair it will
work even better! This sells for $19.95 and I think it’s worth it.

Having recently entered my (dreaded) thirties, taking care of my skin is suddenly a
priority. I’ve always been pretty good about staying out of the sun, not using tanning
beds, etc. but have just started over the last couple of years wearing a daily moisturizer
with sunscreen. So I’m happy to try out the Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tinted
Moisturizer
.  Like my hair, I want my face to feel clean and not like I’m wearing Banana
Boat 45 on my face everyday (though I’m sure it would help protect from the sun). a 1.7
oz bottle sells for $36 (I get 30% off this month through Ipsy)

The final product was some nail polish – Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer in Mai Tai
from Nailtini
, which is a bright orange shade. I don’t love it, or hate it, but for $13, I can
probably do without it (though I don’t mind having it for free!).

I’m still such a fan of Ipsy. I’ve been introduced to some really great products and I
really look forward to getting my new bag each month!
