August Coco Rocha Fancy Box

Got home from work to find this lovely little (not really little) box waiting for me.

What's inside?

At first glance I didn’t feel like these products were that “me” and some of them definitely aren’t, but they are still good products (for someone!) so most will be gifted I imagine.

First I pulled out the Calorie Counting Wine Glass ($20). This, as the name suggests, is a wine glass with increments marking measurements and calories.

This will definitely be a gift, as I don’t drink wine. The smell alone makes my stomach turn. Yuck. But, this looks like a nice gift for someone who does like wine, and who won’t be offended I’m giving a gift that says they need to count calories. At least there’s a “Who Cares” line, right? No? Moving on.

Now, I’ve never see the show “The Face”. It’s a modeling show of some sort and Coco Rocha (who curates this box) is a “coach” along with Karolina Kurkova and Naomi Campbell. Apparently each coach has a team of models competing to be “The Face”. Included in this month’s box is a “Team Coco” shirt. I’m not a t-shirt wearer so this will go in my rotation of shirts to lounge around the house in/work out in. Eh.

Also in my box was a package of Duo Hair Chalk ($10). I don’t see myself adding teal and pink streaks to my hair (ask me 20 years ago, I would have been all over that), so I’ll find some use for this I guess. Halloween? Save it a few more years for a mid-life crisis? Only time will tell!

I definitely feel 30 now. And boring.

The last item, and the best, was a pair of earrings. The Sovanna Earring by Senhoa are stunning. These sell for $85, so again, the box value definitely exceeds what I pay for it. I am not familiar with Senhoa, but according to the card attached,

“Each Senhoa jewelry piece is individually handcrafted by a survivor of human trafficking or a young woman vulnerable to sexual exploitation. Our passion is to create opportunities for survivor artisans to earn an income, share their stories and raise awareness against modern slavery.”

I was not expecting that, but love these even more now.

I tend to usually stick with (fake) diamond studs most days, so these are a little out of my comfort zone, but I’m determined to wear them soon.

So that’s it for August! If you’d like to try out a subscription yourself, go here. Let me know what you think!
