Last week I was feeling all the stress of the past 6 months (years?) and just wasn’t in a good place. Brent called me from work on Wednesday and said that he had booked me a hotel room in Oklahoma City for the weekend so that I could get away and actually spend some time resting, working, or whatever I wanted.
I was hesitant to go. For one thing, I’ve barely left the house in the past six months, but I’m so, so glad I went. I had uninterrupted sleep, no one to take care of, nothing to clean (well, aside from the disinfecting I did of my hotel room when I got there), I had food delivered from DoorDash for every meal and watched waaaay too many Hallmark movies. It was delightful.
One thing I did on my way out of town was stop into the Target parking lot to pick up the clothing I ordered so I could do a try-on in the hotel room.
I decided to purchase some things on a whim and while I honestly thought I’d end up returning it all, I think I found quite a few keepers!
Here are the things I bought and what I thought of them:

My Latest Target Try-On
Sorry the lighting/scenery isn’t that great. It’s hotel lighting and the best spot for pictures is either in front of the sink or in front of the window/air conditioner.
No I didn’t lose my mind, I bought this t-shirt because I thought it might be fun. And while it is, I just don’t think I’d end up wearing it. If you’re into graphic tees though this is a good one. One thing to note, the text is blue, not black, if that makes a difference to you.
I’m wearing a large here and it’s a little roomy but works for the bump right now. I’d say it fits true to size.
This top is more casual than I’d usually go for but it’s pretty comfy and cute. I like the color and it’s great for hanging around the house or layering too under jackets. Wearing a medium here.
This was cuter on than I expected too. The fit is a little flowy so size down if you want it more fitted. I’m wearing a medium here. This also comes in dark gray which is really pretty too.
This cargo jacket is pretty great. It’s got an adjustable drawstring at the waist but the fit is pretty great. I’m in a medium, I’d say it fits true to size. It comes in a green camo print too.
This black jacket is perfection. I love it and will be keeping it, thank you very much. It’s a “one size fits most” item and it comes in plus sizes too, though the plus size looks to be out of stock online right now. (Turn on notifications for when they’re restocked if you want it!)
Yeah, I love it. OK, moving on…
This is a cute dress and would great for work but I just don’t think I have anywhere to go where it right now! (Or in the near future.) It comes in several other colors and prints too. Wearing a medium here, it’s got an elastic waist and has a lot of stretch.
This was super comfy but a little snug through the bust, if you’re busty maybe size up. Otherwise, I’d go with your regular size.
I love this kimono too! I love a good kimono or cardigan or wrap that makes an outfit look so pulled together or intentional. This is a great one and needs a spot in my closet!
This wrap dress was surprisingly more flattering than I expected. I thought it would be too much fabric, but I’m liking it. I’m wearing a medium and it fits my growing bump perfectly. I think it’s got room to grow too, but if you don’t need that it will just be a really comfortable dress for you! This comes in a lot of colors/prints too, so check those out.
That was my try-on! See anything you like? I torn on a few of the tops and while I’d like to keep that black dress, I’ll just have to decide if I’ll actually wear it (considering I’m not really going anywhere). The jackets and kimonos though are no-brainers for me. I’m all in!
