Finding a New Favorite: Black Flats

Love this? Share it!

You know those purchases you just stumble upon and they end up being one of your favorites? That happened to me a few years back in Payless. I  haven’t shopped in Payless much since high school but I strolled in one day and found a pair of Christian Siriano for Payless black flats that I have now worn about a million times. And when people ask me where I got them (which happens frequently), I have to sadly say they aren’t available anymore. Heartbreaking, I know.

While I love me a good heel, I can’t deny the practicality of a good flat. Especially for days you’re constantly on the move. And a good black flat can go from jeans to skirts if you find the right pair, which I did!

But, all good things must come to an end, right? While I certainly think I got my money’s worth out of these shoes (I can’t remember the price, but I’m guessing they were under $25), they are starting to show some wear. And if you think I haven’t combed ebay, Poshmark, and other shopping sites to see if I can find another pair, you would be wrong. (If you see some, I need an 8.5!) So, the hunt begins for their replacement.

These flats from Target are pretty classic. And at $17.99, it’s hard to go wrong there!

A black loafer might do the trick, but I don’t know if that’s what I want for an “everyday” flat. These are tempting though! ($34.99)

These Vince Camuto flats are a close contender, but I don’t love that toggle hanging off the back.

These Tory Burch flats would probably be my front-runner right now, but I don’t think I want to drop $250 at the moment.

For now, I’ve settled on the JustFab Tarina flat to get me through the summer. The gold detail is fun and I don’t think it limits them much.
