Falling (Back) Into the Gap?

Love this? Share it!

I heard some discouraging news yesterday for you Gap fans. Gap is set to close 175 of it’s 675 stores in North America, plus more stores in Europe. In the last few months they’ve been reshuffling their design team, hiring a new creative director, and generally, trying to figure out how to get customers back in the store. I admit, I’ve never been a big fan of Gap. Their style has always been a bit more preppy/casual for my personal taste, though I’ve bought the odd sweater here and there. As I haven’t even visited a store or their website in years, I thought I’d take a look and see what they’re currently offering! Maybe I’ll fall back into the Gap after all!

gap western 1969This isn’t my usual look, but I think that if you’re looking for a denim shirt, this might be the perfect one. Point 1, Gap.

classic trench

Gap may be known for their basics, but if a classic trench is on your list, this one is hard to beat. There’s nothing “basic” about this!

gap twist back dress

The cut of this dress wouldn’t be the most flattering on me, but I love the back! Someone needs to buy this dress. Any volunteers? It comes in a couple other colors/prints too!

gap white shirt dress

Another dress that I couldn’t wear (white is not a good color on me), but again, this is SPOT ON. Nicely done, Gap.

So, Gap definitely knows classic basics that are easy to mix and match. I’m in the market for black pants similar to these, so maybe I’ll go check them out soon!

gap ankle boots

Again, perfectly perfect ankle boots.
Overall, Gap isn’t going to be my first stop on a shopping spree. They’re just a little too casual for my taste. However, they do carry some great basics that are easy to wear, no matter what your personal style is like! All of the items above are ones I could see implementing into my wardrobe with various accessories to make them my own. I am curious to see what changes they make over the coming months and how the public responds. Gap enthusiasts, you better start showing your support!
Are you a Gap fan? Any thoughts on the coming changes?

GAP ankle boots are just simply elegant though not much decoration is done. What a subtle beauty!
