If you’re a Target shopper, you know that they recently revamped their clothing lines. They’ve added lines like Universal Thread and A New Day and the latest to hit stores is Prologue. What makes this line so interesting to me is that at first glance it looks like your basic workwear – button down shirts, thin sweaters, trousers, etc. Take another look and you’ll see this is a highly edited collection of clothing for the modern working woman. These “basics” are more fashion-forward than I’ve seen in a while, and they are beyond affordable for the quality and look you’re purchasing. Here are five items to buy from Target’s Prologue line.
1. A modern twist on a silky blouse
Silky Tie Front Blouse
This gorgeous silky blouse works just as well with your pencil skirt at work as it will with your jeans after hours. And you can’t beat the under-$25 price tag!
2. The everyday trousers
Wide Leg Pinstripe Pants
OK, you may not consider them “everyday” wear, but they could be! Style them with a tee or with a simple sweater. Easy polished perfection.
3. A chic jacket
Side Tie Collared Blazer
If you work in a pretty buttoned-up environment, I think you’ll pass dress code with this chic jacket. It’s a sophisticated take on a standard item and it works so well. (And can you believe it’s less than $40?)
4. An asymmetrical shift
Draped Asymmetric Dress
I figured it was about time to break up all the black with a bit of this wine color! The length here is great, the draping is spot-on, and the color is demure enough to get by without any raised eyebrows at work. Feel free to add a jacket or cardigan as you see fit! (And it also comes in black and white if you want a bolder pattern!)
5. A chic trench
Jacquard Tweed Overcoat
I seriously can’t get over how expensive this line looks. Would you believe this coat is under $50? It’s true! Buy it, wear it, and get ready to tell everyone who asks where you got it!
