Hello, my well-dressed friends. I come to you from the couch, in a quiet room, as one kid is asleep and the other went on a car ride with Dad in hopes he will fall asleep eventually.
I thought I’d use my quiet time to write a post here but then I blanked when trying to think of something to write about. I can’t decide if I have nothing to say, or too much to say, but either way I’m stuck.
Let’s do a little life update for now and perhaps inspiration will strike again soon. If you have a topic you’d like me to address, feel free to leave a comment or reach out via email or social media.
My day-to-day right now consists of kid stuff, house stuff, food allergy stuff, a little work stuff, and odds and ends all thrown together.
Indy and I head back to California soon for his next appointment at the Food Allergy Institute. Things are going well with his treatments and we’re still confident that this is the best option for him. We’ve still got a few years left in the program (who knew Long Beach, California would become such a part of our lives??) so if you have any recommendations for fun things in SoCal, let me know!
Speaking of travel, I recently got to spend a few days at Miraval in Arizona with some of my favorite people in the world. If you haven’t heard of Miraval, you simply MUST put it on your bucket list and if you have heard of Miraval, well, it’s probably already there.
It was definitely a dream destination for me so I was simply THRILLED to have the chance to go. It did not disappoint and was even better than I imagined. I spent my days in yoga and wellness classes, getting massaged and treated at the spa, and reading by the pool. My nights were filled with lots of laughs (and a few tears) with friends I love.
At the risk of sounding completely corny, this trip filled my soul so, so much and it was just what I needed.
Other happenings lately include Indy starting gymnastics, his own YouTube channel (where he is quickly going to surpass any type of success I’ve had with social media), and is excited to start pre-school this fall.
Pax is getting more precious and adorable by the day which seems rather impossible considering he’s already the most precious and adorable child you could imagine.
He went from saying a handful of words to speaking full sentences practically overnight and every day he surprises me with something new. Along with being precious and adorable he’s also quite mischievous and it’s just a delight.
Brent won teacher of the year at his school (very much deserved!) and is getting to enjoy(?) being home with us a bit this summer. I’m sure he’ll be ready to start back to school any day now. :)
I’ve been itching to get back to work and trying to figure out just where to focus. I’m easing back into some styling work and still working on Splendry while thinking about new projects to try too.
That’s about it. Not much, but not not much either, you know? Of course you know, it’s probably similar to your own life! :) Work, family, friendships, trying to make the most of where you are at the moment. I see you, and I’m right there with you.
Now, what are we going to wear?
