Skirts are one of my favorite items. I practically live in them all spring and summer and have a hard time putting them away once the weather turns cold. So, I don’t! Here are a few ideas on how to wear your skirts both now and later!
Wear it Now, Wear it Later: Skirts
Your favorite full black skirt will go from springtime staple to winter wardrobe must-have! Grab a sweater, some tights, and ankle boots and you’re good to go!
Bold colors don’t have to take a backseat when temperatures fall. Jackets and rich textures like tweed make this skirt fall and winter-ready!
One of my favorite go-tos, a moto jacket always gets the job done!
Prim and proper can be done with flouncy blouses, silky camis or sweet sweaters!
A few tips to making a skirt work year round:
- Think textures – by adding in fabrics like leather, brocades, or tweed you’re pulling in traditional fall and winter fabrics. A summery skirt can go winter paired with a wintery fabric!
- Think colors – Don’t be afraid to mix and match colors. Think navy, burgundy, mustard, and other traditional “fall” colors. You might be surprised at the color combinations that work with your pale pink or blue summer skirt!
- Think tights or leggings – your skirt takes on an entirely new look paired with tights or leggings. Such an easy way to change up your look!
