We’ve all got those items in our closet – that dress that you found on mega-sale, those shoes that you immediately fell in love with, that bag that you just knew you’d carry all the time. The problem is you get the item home and then it sits there! Maybe you attempt to wear/carry it and it just doesn’t seem quite right. What do you do when you’ve made the purchase but don’t know how to wear it? Granted there are times when something just isn’t “you” and it’s better off gifted to someone else. But if you’re still willing to give an item a chance, let’s see if we can make it work! Today, Sara has one of those items. She purchased some fringe boots and now just isn’t quite sure how to wear them. I offered to help her out in some new styling ideas and if you have some more ideas, please share!
The item:
These are definitely statement-making shoes! And statement-making shoes always need to be seen! So let’s get them out of the closet and out for everyone to see! Think we can find 5 ways to style them? Let’s see!
Idea 1:
Sweater (similar here) // Jeans // Earrings // Bag (similar here)
Your easiest go-to for these is going to be skinny jeans/pants and a simple sweater. You don’t want a lot of bulk or too many “extras” as you’ve got a lot going on down at your feet! That’s not to say you can’t go with a colorful bag or bold earrings, I’d just keep the fringe (and any other heavy texture) strictly on the boots!
Idea 2
Dress // Leggings // Earrings // Bag
I love how the deep burgundy really makes the boots stand out (not that they needed much help)! While the top has some detail, it’s still simple enough not to compete with all that fringe!
Idea 3
These accessories might be a little more spring/summer-friendly, but that just shows these boots aren’t just for fall and winter! You could easily swap your accessories for your favorite fall hues, throw on a cardigan and head out the door!
Idea 4
Your little black dress takes on a whole new look with these boots! Chic accessories keep this look sophisticated.
Idea 5
Sweater // Skirt // Necklace // Bag
So maybe these boots won’t cut it at your office job (unless you’ve got a more relaxed workplace), but you can still look quite refined and put together!
Jacket // Tank // Jeans // Dress // Scarf // Sweater // Jeans
And if you’re thinking fringe boots might need a place in your wardrobe I found a few options, all under $100!
