If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time you might have learned one important thing about me: hair washing is NOT my favorite. If I could have my hair blown out every week (or twice a week), I would totally do it. Alas, my bank account and living situation (as I do not live anywhere near a place to do this) do not allow this luxury. As it it, I spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to keep my hair fabulous (or, at the least, non-greasy) for as long as possible! I stumbled upon a trick a few months back and it has been AMAZING for my hair! So amazing in fact that I’ve told numerous friends about it and my brother (who currently has longer hair than I do) has tried it and noticed great results as well. The ONE THING you need for gorgeous, amazing hair? Honey!
No joke, honey has made ALL the difference in my hair. I use it two ways:
- Once a week I do a honey mask. I simply wet my hair, ring out the excess water and then squirt a dollop of honey in my palm. Rub my hands together and then run the honey through my hair. (I promise, it sounds stickier than it really is.) I twist my hair up and let it sit for an hour. I’m a big fan of bubble baths so I usually just soak in the tub while I wait. Then I shampoo like normal and that’s it!
- Any other time I wash my hair (which is usually only once or twice more a week) I add a half dollar-sized amount to the shampoo I put in my hand and work it in like I normally would with shampoo. I rinse and that’s it! No residual stickiness at all!

My hair is softer, shinier, and lasts so much longer without getting greasy! Honestly, I haven’t even used dry shampoo in ages! Give it a try and let me know how you like it!
