I’m going in a little different direction than my normal Friday Favorites selection of two or three items or links I think you should check out. Today is all about one INCREDIBLE product I finally tried and loved so much I couldn’t wait to share it! I mentioned in Wednesday’s post (about what I wore to the Emmy’s) that there was one item from my night that I loved, and here’s what it is: Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Lotion.
Let me start by saying that I’m pretty fair-skinned in general. And while my arms and shoulders have seen some sun this summer my legs have been pretty well covered in maxi dresses! I usually use a self-tanner of some sort (most recently Jergens), but no matter the brand I’ve tried- there’s some occasional streaking and of course, wait time involved.
As I was getting dressed last Saturday night I remembered I had received a travel size tube of the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs lotion in my last Walmart Beauty Box. I figured I’d give it a try and if it didn’t work I’d still have time to wash it off! I read the instructions:
- Squeeze a quarter size amount in your hand
- Rub over leg blending well (go easy on knees and elbows)
First of all as I squeezed this into my hand I thought there was NO WAY this would go well. It looked really dark (I was using the Medium shade) and also like it wasn’t nearly enough to cover one whole leg! I could not have been more wrong! I am so incredibly sold on this product!
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs on the left, nothing on the right:
It was so even, so smooth and so fast that it didn’t even seem possible it was this easy! But what if it rained? Would brown streaks be running down my legs? After I finished applying the lotion to both legs I put my hands under the faucet and the lotion did.not.budge. With some soap though it came right off!
By the time I got home Saturday night I was exhausted from a night of award shows and partying (and by partying I mean leaving the dinner at 9:30 and going to get ice cream) and was too tired to think about taking a shower. I figured another great test for the lotion would be how it held up overnight! I woke up the next morning with not a smudge and no sign of makeup stains on my white sheets. Amazing! In fact, I didn’t wash it off and after church my mom was also amazed that the color on my legs wasn’t natural. That’s how good it looked! (She immediately bought some for herself!)
Will the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs lotion completely replace self tanners for me? Probably not completely, as it’s just for legs and I don’t know how it would hold up to a beach day or time swimming (though I’m serious when I say it didn’t budge when in contact with just water!) but for a night out or honestly, ANY time I’m wearing a skirt or dress that shows my legs, I will be using this! It also washed off so easily in the shower with soap and another plus, there’s no heavy scent like there is with a self-tanner!
I might sound a little over the top here with my love for this product, but I can assure you, I’m not being paid to tell you this! I just really, really, really loved it and thought you might too! This is by far the most amazing product I’ve tried in a long time! It comes in five different shades and also in a spray formula.
Have you tried Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs? What did you think?
I’m as fair skinned as you and self Tanner’s always look kind of streaky on me…but now I’m inspired to try.
This was by the far the most natural looking product I’ve tried! You should definitely try it! :)
I used to be able to tan when I was a kid, but not anymore. I burn. This sounds great!
I was a bit taken aback by the medium color and the small amount to be applied to each leg. I took time to really spread the cream evenly onto my legs as I was sure there would be streaking. Surprise! It looked great. I will definitely use this again.
I’ve used the spray several times and I love the effect. Very easy to use, and it looks natural.
I was curious about the spray, I’ll have to try that too!
