Happy Friday! In full disclosure as a fashion blogger, I’d just like to say that as of today I have only gotten out of my workout/sleep clothes three days this week. Sunday for church and Wednesday and Friday because I actually had to go somewhere. So, if you though I prance around the house in heels and full makeup every day, rest assured, I do not. :)
This week has involved a lot of walks around town with the stroller, washing dishes and clothes (over and over) and trying to fit in work while Indy napped, or didn’t nap, depending on the day. AND. Indy has been officially discharged from the hematologist. Goodbye, Neutropenia!
He’s had normal range numbers for several months now and we’ve been in “checking” mode with monthly lab work until we all felt comfortable agreeing he was in good shape. This means no more protecting him from every cough and sneeze in the world and he can now do things like go to Sunday School and lick a water fountain and all the other gross stuff little kids are supposed to do and get sick from. He can now get a fever and we don’t have to go straight to the ER or worry about getting an IV or having to be admitted.
I’m still trying to come to terms that this is really all done so it might be a while before all the tension wears off. (Besides, I still have the food allergy tension to contend with.) But for today I’m trying to breathe a little easier. :) And now, Friday Favorites!

1. The Ulta Beauty 21 Days of Beauty sale is coming
One of the best times of the year, this sale features new products on sale every day over these three weeks. Product favorites from brands like Peter Thomas Roth, Benefit, Mario Badescu, and Anastasia Beverly Hills are available at great discounts just for that 24 hours of the sale. I always like to check out the list ahead of time so I make sure not to miss a favorite product! You can see a full list of the schedule here.
2. More celebrity clothing lines
The days of a celebrity slapping their name on a random clothing line and expecting everyone to buy it up are long gone. Now celebrity lines are typically the kind of quality, amazing pieces we actually want in our closets! This is true for Kate Hudson’s new line, HappyxNature.
Swift Top ($78) and Drift Maxi Skirt ($98)
Now this isn’t your ultra-affordable line that she’s partnered with a retail store for, these are $50 t-shirts, $80 blouses and $150 dresses and jumpsuits. But if you’re looking for a new line to check out, give this one a glance. Every piece seems like something I’d want to take on a Mediterranean vacation, and that’s never a bad thing.
Glide Dress in Cloud Wash Denim ($128)
3. Anthropologie is having a sale!
Specifically a 30% off sale! Save on home goods and clothes today through Sunday.
4. What I’m reading
Switching lanes a bit but I thought I’d share the books I’ve been reading lately. You can see this list of my latest reads here but also add to that Maybe You Should Talk to Someone, by Lori Gottlieb. I’m about half-way through this and really enjoying it. Anyone who’s ever gone to therapy will especially love it, I think.
5. Teacher Giveaway!
The winner of my back-to-school teacher giveaway is… Morgan R.! Hope all the teachers are surviving this week! Look for more giveaways soon!
See you Monday!
