Hello my stylish friends! How did this week treat you? I’ve come through pretty well this week. Indy’s feeling much better and life is kind of taking on a some-what normal routine! At this point, I don’t know what more I could ask for! Some days are easier to get work done than others (hence the one other post this week!), but overall, things are about as smooth as I could hope. I hope life is treating you well, if not, I hope things improve quickly! Let’s get to some Friday Favorites!
1. Mask of the Week
I think this is going to be a regular Friday Favorite feature from now on (though it might occasionally warrant its own post!). Since I’m a huge fan of face masks and try to do at least one a week, I thought I’d share with you what I used and what I thought of it!
The mask: TONYMOLY I’m Real Lemon Mask Sheet Brightening (You can grab it for $3.75 from Ulta Beauty or $3.00 onĀ Amazon )
What does it do? This is a brightening mask, and since I was headed to my brothers’ television premiere in OKC on Tuesday night, I figured I’d try to give my skin a little boost! This mask is rich in amino acids, which help keep skin hydrated, revitalized and radiant. It’s supposed to help fill in gaps and lines on your face, making it appear smoother while also improving its tone and color. The lemon extract is supposed to help your complexion appear brighter and healthier.
Easy to apply/remove? Yep, just unfold and apply the paper mask and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. I didn’t rinse my face afterward.
Did it work? YES! I put this mask on while I took a bath and I noticed a REMARKABLE difference after using the mask. My face was brighter, my skin felt firmer, and while my skin was still soft from the mask residue after, it never felt sticky and I was happy to let it dry right on my face! I followed it up with moisturizer and then applied my makeup right on top! In the days that followed I still feel great about my skin and have gone makeup-free quite a bit!
Final verdict? 5 stars! This is going to be a regular mask I can keep on hand. I’ll be using it on days when I have a special event coming up, or just when my skin is feeling a bit dull!
2. Target dress saves the day!
I wanted to find something new to wear to the premiere this week but didn’t have much time to shop. I remembered the Target dresses I had ordered and were still sitting in the mailing envelopes and the red dress was a winner! The night was slightly hectic for me so I forgot to take a photo, but someone sent this one that I’m in so you can get an idea! (The lighting isn’t great, so don’t judge my skin after I just talked about the face mask!) :)
Pictured from left to right: My older brother Lucas (dressed as one of the Lazy Circles characters, Nadiene – I do his makeup), my husband, Brent, Indy and me, my dad, Jimmy, my brother Marcus’s girlfriend, Catherine, my little brother, Marcus, and my mom, Glenda. The only people missing are my sister-in-law, Aubrie (who already went home when we took this photo), and my nephews! It was a fun night with a full theater (they were turning people away!), and TONS of laughs! This show is going to be a hit!
Anyway, back to the dress. It’s soft, with just the right amount of stretch, comfortable, and a great length for me (hits just below the knee). Another bonus, the straps are wide enough that my bra straps don’t show constantly! You know how hard it can be to find a dress like that!
Flowy Tank Midi Dress ($29.99)
If you’re looking for an easy dress to wear this summer, I’d recommend it! (And it also comes in black and white stripes.)
3. Trying new lipstick on a whim
Brent and I took some time yesterday to run errands and started our errands at, where else, but Target! I forgot to bring lipstick with me so it was the perfect excuse to pick some up! I quickly grabbed a tube of L‘oreal Paris Colour Riche Shine Lipstick in Laminated Fuchsia. It feels really light on and has a ton of shine! I’ll try to post an Instagram pic this weekend to show it on.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend and I’ll see you Monday! I’ve got lots of great stuff planned for next week, so stay tuned!
